Brisbane Blaze take on Hockey Club Melbourne in Sunday family day

The Brisbane Blaze host the Hockey Club Melbourne this Sunday afternoon in the second home round of the season.

The action kicks off with the currently third placed Blaze women’s team, taking on the HCM women’s team who will be looking for their first win in regular time. Dual Olympian Steph Kershaw joins the team for the first time this season, and Hannah Cullum-Sanders returns after a small knee injury in the first game.

In the Men’s match up, it’s do or die for the Brisbane Blaze who are without a win after 3 games and need to secure a win to stay in contention for the Finals Series in Hobart. Kookaburras Tim Howard and Corey Weyer have returned to Australia this week after playing in the European leagues and will take the field for the first time this season in front of the home crowd.

The event will be packed with family-friendly activities, including free entry for kids under 16, food trucks, free face painting, and an appearances by Burnie Blaze, the team’s beloved mascot! There will also be a range of kids’ activities to ensure fun for the whole family.
