Joshua Beltz

Having missed out on the opportunity to debut on his home turf in Hobart in May 2015, ruled out with a hip injury, Tasmanian Joshua Beltz made his belated debut for the Kookaburras at the 2015 Oceania Cup in New Zealand, topping it off with his first international goal.

Off the back of a good Australian Hockey League performance with the Tassie Tigers, the then 20-year-old defender made the step-up from the 2015 development squad to the Kookaburras’ Olympic training squad in the space of 12 months. He was part of the 2016 Champions Trophy gold-winning side which is his career highlight to date.

Often seen with a GoPro or selfie stick in hand at training and tournaments, Beltz captures behind the scenes footage of the boys’ life while on tour.
