Andrew Charter played basketball, soccer and baseball as a child before ‘accidentally’ finding hockey. His sister Deanne, who was coaching an under 13 boys team at the time, roped Andrew to fill in on the field that day and he hasn’t stopped playing since. After a year outfield, he chose to become a goalkeeper.
Under the bar in 2015 at two major international tournaments, Charter helped the Kookaburras to gold medals at both the World League Semi Final and World League Final, but his career highlight to date was winning the 2014 World Cup where Australia only conceded three goals for the whole tournament.
Graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with an oil and gas major, Canberra native Charter dedicated seven years to studying his degree, before landing a job with Visagio.
