Westfund contributes to health of Australian hockey

Hockey Australia is delighted to announce Australian owned health fund, Westfund Health Insurance, as a new Supporting Partner.

A proud not-for-profit health insurer built on solid community values and a foundation of trust, Westfund joins the Australian hockey family through a partnership with the Sultana Bran Hockey One League as well as the country’s two highly ranked senior national teams – the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras.

“Westfund is a trusted and highly respected health insurance brand so it is fantastic that they have come on board with Hockey One,” said GM – Hockey One, Tony Dodemaide.

“I am sure the partnership will provide great benefits for both parties, particularly in the promotion and exposure of the Sultana Bran Hockey One League while helping Westfund to develop as a national brand.”

The Westfund logo will feature on the left shoulder of all Hockey One clubs’ playing tops and right shoulder of the Hockeyroos, Kookaburras, Jillaroos and Burras uniforms.

“We are really pleased Westfund has committed to a partnership with Hockey Australia,” said Hockey Australia CEO Matt Favier.

“Hockey in this country has a deep connection and strong roots with regional areas and communities, which correlates with a large part of Westfund’s business and what it prides itself on.”

“We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Westfund and supporting them to achieve their goals and aspiration of being the leading regional health insurer in Australia.”

At the helm of an organisation currently serving more than 50,000 members, Westfund CEO Matt Banning is excited about the opportunity to align with Hockey Australia.

“Central to our ethos as a not-for-profit health insurer is our commitment to our members and our communities,” said Westfund CEO, Matt Banning.

“Just like Hockey Australia, we are committed to invoking a sense of community for our members and in empowering them with choice and greater opportunity around provision of their healthcare,” he said.

With a proud history rooted in a commitment to a collective purpose, Westfund remains committed to ensuring its members are its priority.

“We treat our members as people – not numbers,” said Mr Banning.

“It is important to us that our members feel they are part of something more when they trust us with their private health insurance.”

Westfund originated in Lithgow, NSW in 1953 and now has members across the nation.
