Goalkeeper Aleisha Power has unfortunately been withdrawn from the 2023 JDH Hockey One season due to medical reasons.
Despite hopes of making a return to Hockey One for the final round of the home & away season following surgery and rehabilitation for an ankle injury, the Hockey Australia High Performance program has made the difficult decision to rule her out for the remainder of the season.
The Perth Thundersticks extends its heartfelt support and best wishes to Aleisha with her continuing recovery.
Lou-Ellen Edwards, who was selected in this year’s extended squad, has now been elevated to the main playing group to replace Power.
Edwards joins the Thundersticks off the back of a strong Premier League season with UWA Hockey Club, featuring in the 2023 Women’s grand final against Suburban Lions.
She has also represented WA at the Under-21 National Championships in Sydney earlier this year.
If selected, Edwards faces the prospect of making her Perth Thundersticks debut.
