ONE Active Hockey One Round Six Preview: Season-shaping drama ahead

With only two rounds left, ONE Active Hockey One Round Six shapes as a defining moment in the race to Melbourne. From must-win clashes to the blockbuster Melbourne–Canberra doubleheader, this weekend promises season-shaping drama across every match.

NSW PRIDE vs ADELAIDE FIRE
Friday – Men 6:30pm (AEDT) | Women 8:15pm (AEDT)
Goulburn Hockey Complex, Goulburn

WOMEN: Pride and Fire fight for top spot
The Pride women enter Round Six in a strong position and field a powerful lineup headlined by Grace Stewart and Mariah Williams — a pair capable of breaking games open. Supporting them are Chelsea Holmes, Makayla Jones and Amalia Patterson forming a dynamic forward line.

Their midfield depth runs through Emmalee Croker, Jenna-Rae McIntyre and Alana Kavanagh. Defensively, Lola Dorman, Laura Reid and goalkeeper Tegan Newhouse anchor one of the league’s most reliable units.

Gouldburn local Bella Croker enters the lineup, making her debut on her home turf.

The Pride have already qualified for finals but will be looking to lock in the top of the ladder position.

Adelaide will return to the finals in 2025, bringing a stacked lineup built around Greta Hayes, Hattie Shand and Margot van Geffen who control the midfield.

Their forward threats — Annie Abbott, Katie Sharkey and Laura Barden are capable of troubling any defence, while goalkeeper Aleisha Power, Chloe Holland and Britt Wang form their defensive backbone.

MEN: Pride Strength in Depth vs Fire’s Push
The Pride men are well placed in the top four and roll out a lineup full of firepower. Blake Govers remains the league’s most feared striker, supported by attackers Jack Hayes and Toby Mallon.

In the midfield, Dylan Martin, Luke Noblett and Connor Tuddenham control the pace, with goalkeeper Ash Thomas anchoring a disciplined defensive structure.

A win strengthens their grip on a finals place — and possibly a top-two finish.

The Fire men have named an exciting Round Six group. Jeremy Hayward remains their elite drag-flicking weapon, while Hassan Singh, Bryce Hammond and Jaykay Young supply pace up front.

Midfielders Hugh Snowden and Seb Foster will be vital after last week’s inconsistency, while defenders Jethro Eustice, Trent Symss, Mitchell Dell and Ben O’Grady protect goalkeeper Leon Hayward.

Debutant Josh Ucinek comes into the Fire’s lineup bringing fresh legs against NSW Pride.
