JDH Hockey One League partners with Spring Media for international growth

International sports media agency Spring Media has continued its surge into Oceania, lending its global distribution arm to grow the JDH Hockey One League outside Australia.

The JDH Hockey One League has agreed to a long term deal on distribution of its annual eight-week 54 match series internationally. The partnership comes a month shy of the season opener, marking year three of the new JDH Hockey One League format.

Seven franchises with both men’s and women’s teams compete in back-to-back doubleheaders over a seven round regular season, concluding in a Finals Main Event. The JDH Hockey One League is unique in being the only elite national Australian sporting league that features a men’s and women’s doubleheader at the same venue.

“We’re honored to partner with JDH Hockey One to carry the league message and share a fast-paced competition format to an international audience,” said Craig Neilson, Commercial Director, Commonwealth & APAC, Spring Media.

“Field hockey ranks among the highest participation team sports globally, and we will use our market know-how to introduce these exciting doubleheaders to both existing and new field hockey fans.”

Neilson continues to add, “Former CEO Hockey Australia and former CEO Baseball Australia, Cam Vale, who helped initiate this partnership will continue to support the development of the Spring Media group in the Oceania region working closely with myself on the various ongoing activities.”

“Another highly anticipated Hockey One season is upon us that will feature many of Australia’s national team stars together with an array of exciting and aspiring talent and a quality international contingent,” said Hockey One League Executive Manager, Sash Herceg.

“We look forward to working closely with Spring Media to grow the league and the game abroad.”

While focusing on international growth, Spring Media will also provide dedicated boots on the ground – providing its full-service consultancy to the JDH Hockey One League.

The JDH Hockey One League 2023 season starts on 6 October with doubleheaders scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The top four women’s and men’s teams at the end of the regular season progress to the Finals Main Event in Canberra on 25-26 November to determine the 2023 Champions.
