How to get around Sultana Bran Hockey One – Grand Finals

It’s time for the big dance in the Sultana Bran Hockey One League! Here are all the ways to get around Saturday’s Grand Final double header.

Both the Men’s and Women’s Grand Finals are sure to be exhilarating contests, and whoever lifts the trophy will have certainly earned their title as inaugural Sultana Bran Hockey One Champions.

First up is the Men’s Grand Final where the undefeated NSW Pride take on Brisbane Blaze for the second time in three weeks. The Pride turned it on in the third quarter of their semi final against Hockey Club Melbourne, scoring five of their six goals of the match to win 6-2.

The Blaze were given a dose of reality last time they faced the Pride in Round 7, defeated 5-0 in Brisbane. But they regrouped and bounced back in style, putting seven goals past the Tassie Tigers for an opportunity to exact revenge against their ‘State of Origin’ rivals.

The Women’s Grand Final then gets underway between Hockey Club Melbourne and Brisbane Blaze.

HC Melbourne had to do it the hard way against Canberra Chill in the semi final, winning the shootout after regulation time failed to see a goal from either side. Madi Ratcliffe was the only player to score in the shootout, while goalkeeper Rachael Lynch was impassable with some big saves.

Brisbane Blaze found their semi final much more straightforward with a 3-0 win against Adelaide Fire. The last time these sides met was also in Melbourne, the home team winning by just a single goal.

Who will be lifting the trophies come Saturday? Here are all of the ways to follow the action.
