The Big Hockey Hit Out (BHHO) – Queensland’s most competitive event – finished up with the finals series on Sunday 7th August!
In the Men, the Rays met the Stingers in the 3rd/4th playoff match, then it was Thunder v Reef in the Grand Final.
Stingers Men came out with a point to prove opening the scoring in only the 4th minute and finished the game 6 – 0 against the Rays.
The Grand Final was a neck and neck goal-fest, with scores level at halftime. Three in quick succession from Shane Kenny and Michael Francis secured the win, with two from Cale Cramer in the Reef not able to turn the tables.
In the Women, the Reef met the Stingers in the 3rd/4th playoff match, then it was Thunder v Rays in the Grand Final.
Two quick goals in the second quarter from the Reef Women gave them an early start, and the Stingers Women weren’t able to catch them in the end. Reef came away with 3rd position 4 – 1.
An early goal from Morgan Gallagher put the Rays up 1 – 0 for most of the game, securing their win 3 – 0 with two late goals in the final term.
In the Grand Final, it was neck and neck with both teams fighting for their share in $2,000.
