How to get around Sultana Bran Hockey One – Round 7

Here are all the ways to stay across the final round of the Sultana Bran Hockey One League so you don’t miss any of the action.

With the final four not set just yet across both the men’s and women’s competitions, there are still plenty of exciting match-ups and a range of possibilities of how the top four will shape up.

The weekend kicks off with the Tassie Tigers hosting the Perth Thundersticks. This is a make-or-break contest for Perth, with both of their teams currently sitting outside of the top four. Both can qualify for the finals. For the women it’s as simple as ‘win and you’re in’ against the winless Tigers, whereas the men will have to win and rely on Hockey Club Melbourne losing to Adelaide Fire on Sunday.

Later on Saturday, Brisbane Blaze play against NSW Pride. In the women’s match, the Blaze can secure second place and a home final with a win, while the Pride are after a second win of the season with finals out of the picture. Then follows undoubtedly the match of the round, if not the season. Both the Blaze and Pride’s Men’s teams remain undefeated, have scored 52 goals between them, and conceded only 10. This will be a battle between the two standout teams of the competition for a perfect season and early bragging rights in what could be a grand final preview.

Finally, the home and away season comes to a close in Melbourne, with HC Melbourne entertaining Adelaide Fire. The men’s match is first up, with HC Melbourne needing at least a win or draw to secure their place in the finals. If Adelaide break through for their first win of the season, it opens the door for Perth Thundersticks to make the four providing they beat Tassie Tigers. The women’s match promises to be a great contest to close the home and away season. A win to the home team completes a perfect season, while a home final is still possible for currently third-placed Adelaide.

There’s so much still to come in the Sultana Bran Hockey One League, you won’t want to miss any of the final round action!
