HC Melbourne Men bow out with pride

It was a David and Goliath battle with the HC Melbourne men up against a star studded and undefeated NSW Pride. NSW continued their dominance while HC Melbourne matched their press until a goal scoring third term split the game wide open.

In what was a fiercely contested opening half that saw NSW Pride and HC Melbourne only split by a 3rd minute goal by the Pride’s Nathanael Stewart, the floodgates opened in the third quarter as the hosts piled on five goals in as many minutes to secure a 6-2 result and notch up their seventh straight win.

Early in the third quarter, Kurt Lovett and Tim Brand both scored a brace for the Pride. While HC Melbourne’s answered with an opportunistic goal off the stick from youngster, Craig Marais. Captain Russell Ford, was able to peg the goal difference back but NSW Pride quickly replied with Lachlan Sharp sealing the game at 6-2.
